History

Dr. Koplos' vision has always been to provide the highest quality emergency and referral services to the greater El Paso and Southern New Mexico region including the incorporation of residency trained board certified specialists. Clinical services at El Paso Animal Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center have been, and will continue to be developed with a strong emphasis on advanced technology. El Paso Animal Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center was one of the first to utilize digital radiology in the region,the first to bring CT services for animal use. Endoscopy, Ultrasonography, and in house lab capabilities are constantly upgraded, MRI will be available in the near future. Dr. Koplos' vision and the ultimate goal of El Paso Animal Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center is to bring world class specialized veterinary care right here to the greater El Paso region and surrounding areas. Having this option in our region will truly be the difference between life and death for many beloved furry family members with ultra complex cases requiring specialized care. It would improve the level of care across the entire region with local vets being able to not only refer complex issues when necessary, but also by having a specialist available to consult with when the need arises. This vision has progressed with the addition of a board certified Surgeon several years ago. Dermatology and Ophthalmology services are also available on a regular schedule. However, we are nowhere near the fulfillment of Dr. Koplos' goal of and have decided that now is the time go all in on getting the key elements necessary for making this lifelong vision a reality! With that being said we are actively seeking to add a full time Board Certified Internal Medicine Specialist, as well as a Neurologist, and an additional Surgeon! We are very excited and committed to this leap forward and will be doing our best to make this a reality in the very near future.
