History

We understand that you have many choices for veterinary care, products and supplies. We would like to take this opportunity to go over some of the areas that set us apart.

Compassionate care: Whether your pet is a new puppy or kitten or your dearly loved senior pet, we understand that your pet is a valued and loved member of your family. At White Haven Veterinary Hospital we consider ourselves to be your other family Doctor. It is our mission to provide compassionate and quality care at all times. What is compassionate care? It is treating every client and every pet with gentleness and respect at all times. It is offering the highest quality medicine, while never forgetting that a gentle word, or a kiss on the head, will help a frightened animal to relax. Pain control is another key to compassionate care. Our nursing and technical staff is trained to appropriately assess an animal's level of pain. We believe that no animal should have to be in pain and pride ourselves on pain management. Another key to compassionate care is quality care. Offering the very best medical care possible for your pet is our number one goal.

State of the art hospital: In May of 2008 the construction of our new facility was completed and we moved into our new home! It was a dream of Dr. Sharon Lachette's, owner of White Haven Veterinary Hospital, for many years to bring a hospital to our community that would help us to provide the very best care possible for every pet that walks through our doors. We are so happy her dream has been realized and that the community now has this wonderful facility for their veterinary care. Some of our hospital features include a digital dental x-ray system, a state of the art in-house laboratory, and a separate enclosed surgery suite with the very latest monitoring and anesthetic equipment. When having surgery your pet will be monitored continuously with ECG, pulse oximetry and blood pressure. We have large cages with soft bedding, and runs for hospitalized pets to stay in comfortably. These are just a few of the wonderful things our new home has to offer. The other benefit is that we are located on 940, just 8.1 miles West of Blakeslee and 2 miles east of White Haven.

Community Involvement: Dr. Sharon Lachette, the owner of White Haven Veterinary Hospital grew up in White Haven. She graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1994, she returned to open White Haven Veterinary Hospital. Community commitment is very important to everyone in our hospital. We pride ourselves that we have great relationships with our clients, both year round and seasonal. We are very committed to giving back to the community. Just a few examples of this commitment are, giving discounted services to our local police and fire departments, from Kidder Township to Mt. Pocono to providing a Rabies vaccination clinic in Lake Harmony every year for those in the community that have a difficult time affording vaccines for their pets. We also donate to local charities, and we are a very proud member of the White Haven Chamber of Commerce.

Client Education: Our philosophy is that an informed client is the best client, able to make the best decisions for the health of their pet. We invest heavily in the continuing education of our staff and Doctors, so we can always offer the very highest level of veterinary care and education to our clients and their pets. As a client you will see this difference. We like to take the time to teach you how to best care for your pet and make sure all of your questions are answered every time we see your pet. Our client service staff, the Nursing and technical staff, and our Doctors are very committed to making pet ownership a wonderful success, for your family. This education helps us keep your pets healthy throughout their lives. Another commitment we make to education is our Clinical Study Program. This research helps us to offer all pets technology that is on the cutting edge of veterinary medicine, as well as helping to promote the field of veterinary science.

Pocono Pet Lodge: Whether you are going out of town, or you just need a place for them to stay while you go out to play for the day in the Poconos, our pet lodge is the place for your pet to safely and comfortably stay. We offer indoor/outdoor runs, with a wonderful exercise and play yard. Do they need a bath or a grooming? We offer this as well!
