History
Belvoir Pet Hospital was built as a veterinary clinic in 1938 by Dr. David Elsasser. He and his family lived on the second floor of the hospital and raised their three daughters there.
Dr. Joseph N. Farkas graduated from The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1964 and began practicing with Dr. Elsasser that same year. Dr. Marty Farkas graduated one year after Joe, and the husband and wife team purchased Belvoir Pet Hospital from Dr. Elsasser soon after.
In 1998 after 33 years of practice together, Marty and Joe's son, Butch (1995 OSU grad), joined Belvoir Pet Hospital after practicing in Cincinnati for a short time. In 2003, Butch purchased the practice from his parents, and in early 2004, Marty passed away unexpectedly.
Joe and Butch continued to practice together until Joe's retirement at the end of 2010.
Belvoir Pet Hospital has since expanded it's facility and staff to meet the growing clientele, with the addition of Dr. Laskin in 2009, Dr. Tree in 2012 and Dr. Banta in 2013.
