History

SRH Veterinary Services is a family owned practice which was established in 1987 when the father, son and daughter team of Drs. Robert Orcutt Sr., Robert M. Orcutt and Helen Noble integrated their practices.Dr. Orcutt Sr. grew up in Vermont on a farm where the family lifestyle involved dairy farming, maple sugaring, logging and working the fields, mostly powered by the family's Morgan horses. Dr. Orcutt graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary School in 1945. During World War II, Dr. Orcutt served in the U.S. Army Reserve duty and during the Korean Conflict he served as a Captain in the U.S. Veterinary Corps. Dr. Orcutt dedicated a large portion of his life to riding, driving and training Morgan horses. At the first annual National Morgan Horse Show, held in 1939, Dr. Orcutt won the saddle championship. Both Dr. Robert M. Orcutt and Dr. Noble carried on this legacy as avid competitors in the Morgan Horse show circuit in addition to their busy careers as veterinarians.Burkland Farm, the Orcutt family farm, is now managed by Dr. Noble's sons, Joshua and Caleb, who continue to raise and train Morgan horses with the family bloodline.
