Healthy Paws Animal Hospital was purposely designed to deliver a client and patient experience like no other veterinary hospital. From the design of the facility to the customer's experience Healthy Paws has redefined how high quality, convenient, and compassionate animal care is experienced by both our clients and their cherished pets. No waiting in the lobby, comfortable and pet relaxing exam rooms with floor to ceiling windows (shown to lower pet anxiety), all standard procedures performed in the exam room with the client present, in-room check-out, low vaccination protocol standards, and all technicians being certified or degreed are just a few examples of how by design we are different than all others! Healthy Paws Animal Hospital is a high quality, full-service, care practice.

History
James Herriot, 4H, and a cat named Cicero all made Dr. Burgess who she is today. Born and raised in Kansas City to high school teachers, summer driving trips were spent listening to All Creatures Great and Small on the car radio. An interest in veterinary medicine and a determination to embrace all things animal was born. Volunteering for the local vet at fourteen turned into a high school job and taught her the ropes of the profession from kennel cleaning to answering phones. Dr. Burgess attended Kansas State University and received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1997. After graduation she moved to Hollywood, FL, to obtain advanced training at a large referral, general, and emergency practice small animal internship focusing on cats and dogs. In 2000 she relocated to her soon-to-be husband's hometown of Chicago. Dr. Burgess then practiced downtown at a large general practice and at referral specialty center Arboretum View Animal Hospital providing emergency/critical care. Along with her husband John the idea for Healthy Paws Animal Hospital was born and a dream finally come true with its opening May 2010.
