History
Founded in Santa Rosa, CA in 1975, Canine Companions is the first nonprofit to train dogs to assist people with physical disabilities, other than blindness. Disabilities served include cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, autism, developmental delay, and the deaf and hard of hearing. Canine Companions has six state of the art assistance dog training centers throughout the country in CA, FL, OH, TX and NY.
