History
Dr. Brehmer is a Minnesota transplant, having grown up on a small hobby farm in western Minnesota. He raised cattle, ducks, chickens and geese, and participated in 4H for many years. Dr. Brehmer attended the University of Minnesota for undergraduate school and Ross University for Veterinary school. He completed his clinical year of Veterinary school at the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2009. Dr. Brehmer started his career as a racetrack Veterinarian in Arizona, practicing primarily on thoroughbred racehorses. He moved to Southern California in 2010 and began his career in small animal private practice. He and his wife Dr. Lynlee Fluent lived out their dream when they purchased Ortega Animal Care Center in November 2013. Dr. Brehmer practices all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, with a special interest in internal medicine, preventative care and reproduction. His hobbies and interests include cattle genetics and breeding, spending time with his wife and daughters Farah & Elle and his three French Bulldogs, and traveling whenever he gets a chance.
