The Animal Medical Center of Southern California is devoted to providing the best medical, surgical, and emergency critical care available in veterinary medicine. History

The Animal Medical Center is owned by Dr. Alan Schulman. Dr. Schulman has been practicing veterinary medicine in Los Angeles since 1983 and is a Board Certified Surgeon. As a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), Dr. Schulman has consistently maintained and practiced at the highest level of surgical expertise employing the latest technology for all types of surgery. To become a board-certified specialist, a doctor of veterinary medicine must successfully complete an approved internship program (which is at least an additional 1-year commitment after having completed four years in veterinary school), complete a residency program, which is typically at least three years (with intensive study in the field of veterinary surgery), pass a rigorous examination process (written, oral and practical examination), and be certified for membership in the appropriate veterinary specialty college.
