History
Animal Care Hospital of Phoenix was founded in 1964 by Dr. John Matchette. The original hospital was located on Thomas Road, just a few blocks east of our present facility. We moved the practice to our current location just west of 32nd street in 1981. Dr. Stephen Bishop joined the practice in 1973, Dr. Mark Halver in 1981, and Dr. Tara Temple in 2006. Dr. Bishop ran our outpatient practice (Animal Care Clinic) from 1977 until 1988. That practice was located in the Town and Country shopping center at 20th Street and Camelback.
