At the Drake center, what we're going to do is find out more about your dog’s lifestyle, how many pets are in the household, and whether you have an active case or not to determine whether or not we're going to use both a preventative and an actual adulticide. The treatment depends on what medications we're going to choose for your pets.

So, that's an excellent conversation to have with your veterinarian. If your dog struggles to eat an oral product, or maybe they're picky, then perhaps a topical is the way to go. Perhaps you're looking for just flea and tick prevention, and you're not looking for anything for heartworm or intestinal parasites, and they can help you find a product there.

People love the oral ones because it's really easy to give with food. You give them a chewable tablet, so you give them like a treat, and dogs do really well with them. The side effects are less too.
