Bay Area Veterinary Hospital opened its doors on Kent Island in August of 1996, offering both Western medicine and Acupuncture. Our wonderful staff has always consisted of devoted individuals. This includes interning high school students and pre-vet students, among others who have a special love for animals.
Since the beginning, we have striven to provide a wellness approach by recommending the nutritional benefits of fresh whole foods, regular exercise, and limited individualized vaccination programs. We added Chinese Herbs to our pharmacy in 2003. Then, we grew out of our space in the Thompson Creek Shopping Center with only 2 exam rooms and cramped quarters. After one and half years of construction, we opened our stand-alone hospital in Chester on March 3rd, 2008. Now enjoying 5 exam rooms, office spaces, and open treatment areas in which to receive our patients and clients.
As time has gone by, we have added some very special members to the BAVH team
Dr. Cindy Dahle is the owner of the practice and has been since the beginning. She shares her wide range of wisdom with everyone she meets to give them the best possible care for their pet(s).
Dr. Rebecca Ewing joined us in September 2013. She quickly became a patient and client favorite. She brings a sense of fun and comfort to every appointment.
Dr. Heather Hendler became a part of the family in December 2016. She also has quite the fan club accumulating, especially from the kitties of the Island. She brings added knowledge with a calm, comforting presence from her years of experience.
