College Village Animal Clinic provides our clients with both preventative health care and the treatment of diseases of companion animals. Our primary goals are to provide prompt and personalized client/patient/doctor interactions, to offer the highest level of medical care available and most importantly to be as honest, informative and as open to our clients as possible, treating them with the same respect that we would desire if we were the person whose pet was being treated.

History
College Village Animal Clinic has provided veterinary services in Anchorage for over 40 years. Our doors were first opened by Dr. Glen Neidlinger who sold the practice in 1968 to Dr. Arden Anderson. Dr. Pamela Tuomi began working here in 1970 and assumed ownership in 1978. Dr. Jon Basler became part of the staff in 1990 and assumed ownership in 1998 when Dr. Pamela Tuomi became a staff veterinarian at the Alaska SeaLife Center. Dr. Tuomi continues to be part of the CVAC team by providing relief veterinarian services to the clinic throughout the year.
Current associate veterinarians include Dr. Peter Nicholson, who joined CVAC in August of 2002, Dr. Alice Velsko who joined the staff in May of 2009, and Dr. Alison Capitan, who joined the team in May of 2011. College Village Animal Clinic is devoted exclusively to companion animals. Our client base is approximately 60% Canine, 30% Feline, 7% Avian and 3% other species and we treat an average of 20 35 animals each day. Because our clients take such good care of their pets, we see an above average number of older animals with geriatric problems such as dental disease, degenerative problems, endocrine diseases and cancer. Our efforts are directed towards maximizing the quality of life in all of our patients recognizing their status as valued family members.
