Veterinarian

I have been fortunate enough to have lots of different types of animals in my life ever since I was a little kid in Northern Kentucky (cats, dogs, fish, birds, hamsters, gerbils, mice, and even an iguana or two). I guess I’ve been actively trying to save animals since about second grade when I started bringing home stray kittens and syringe-feeding abandoned baby birds that the neighbors would bring when they found them.

I’ve always been interested in science and medicine, but I really love veterinary medicine specifically because when I start my day, I have no idea how it’s going to go: one minute, I may be helping a family learn what they need to know care for their new puppy properly, then move on to perform an emergency surgery of some kind, and then the next appointment may involve going over what it takes to maintain the quality of life of an old, diabetic cat who’s been a part of the family for 18 years. It really is the most amazing feeling when someone brings their loved one to me and I can do something to help fix a problem or answer questions and ease the family’s mind about a concern they might have.

My goal isn’t to just treat an animal or a condition; it’s to create a close, trusting partnership with your entire family so that we can all take part in maintaining the health and happiness of your pet. Veterinary medicine has changed and improved so much since I started out as a veterinary assistant 20 years ago and I am grateful that I can use those advances to extend and improve the lives of your four-legged kids. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

I am very proud to say that I went to the University of Cincinnati for undergraduate school and The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine for medical training. My family consists of my husband, Dan, and me as well as our 2 cats and 3 dogs, all of whom started out as fosters who just never left! I spend much of my time off reading and playing with the dogs. The cats make time for me when they feel like it…
