Does my dog need to be fasted for surgery? - Animal Hospital of Statesville
Yes, we generally require fasting for surgery. Usually, that's after midnight. We recommend that you don't feed them if they're having surgery the next morning. Water's fine.

Does my dog need to be fasted for surgery? - Lombard Veterinary Hospital
Yes. We recommend pulling your pet's food the night before surgery. They can eat dinner that night, but no food or treats after midnight is acceptable. They can have water up until the morning of surgery before you guys drop them off.
