Certified Veterinary Technician

 

We’re growing! Looking for our 5th and 6th CVT to join our thriving 6-doctor small animal practice in our brand-new, state-of-the-art building.

From assisting in surgeries and dental procedures to performing lab work, radiographs, and patient care, you’ll be actively involved in providing hands-on, high-quality care. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and help provide exceptional care to our patients.

Clinical Duties:

  • Assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including patient prep, anesthesia administration, monitoring, and dental care.

  • Perform TPRs, record weights, monitor patient status, and document findings accurately.

  • Conduct clinical laboratory tests (blood, urine, heartworm, FeLV/FIV, cultures, cytology, gram stains).

  • Take radiographs and EKGs as needed.

  • Perform ear cleanings, treatments, and other routine patient care procedures.

Client Care & Communication:

  • Admit and discharge patients, ensuring proper grooming and medical readiness.

  • Counsel clients on medications, home care, and follow-up procedures.

  • Prepare estimates and understand hospital charges.

  • Make follow-up calls to clients when appropriate.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical instruments according to hospital protocols.

  • Follow safety precautions for exposure to toxins, drugs, anesthesia, and radiation.

  • Comply with DEA, OSHA, and hospital regulations.

  • Monitor and complete assigned tasks and to-do lists to support clinic workflow.

Teamwork & Professionalism:

  • Assist other staff members as needed.

  • Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with colleagues.

  • Follow oral and written directions accurately and efficiently.

 

Required:

  • Licensed/Certified Technician

Preferred:

  • Clinic experience 1yr +
  • Experience inducing and monitoring anesthesia
  • Surgical assistance
  • Dentistry experience
