Feet And Paws For A Great Cause: Team GeniusVets At The 2019 San Diego Humane Society Walk For Animals

This May, Team GeniusVets had the chance to put our feet to work for a good cause. Some of our staffers and their family members participated in the 2019 San Diego Humane Society Walk for Animals! Of course, this cause is close to our hearts as we were able to contribute to SDHS’s efforts to help both pets and wildlife in the San Diego area.

Director of Operations, Brandi Dupre, reflects on the experience: “We enjoyed the opportunity to get together with our team and pets to celebrate our love for animals by playing an active role in creating positive experiences for the animals and their owners within our community.”

The GeniusVets team helped raise more than $500 of the $300,000+ total that was raised. The funds raised will be used to support the care and programs for domestic animals through the San Diego Humane Society, as well as local wildlife that is cared for by Project Wildlife

Brandi continues: “Most people know about the amazing work the Humane Society does for domestic animals, but their work also extends to supporting the education, conservation, and rehabilitation for local wildlife here in San Diego. On numerous occasions, I have taken sick, orphaned, and injured animals to Project Wildlife for care - all of which have been rehabilitated and released. If it had not been for them, I’m not sure where I would have turned for help. Raising funds to further their work was an honor and an annual tradition I am proud to participate in with our team.”

Looking back on the day, we just can’t resist sharing some snapshots from the 2019 SDHS Walk for Animals. So many doggos, so much fun, such a wonderful way to give back!

and she wasn’t quite sure how to feel about that!

It’s safe to say that Brandi speaks for all of Team GV when she says, “Personally, this event brought together many of the things that are important in my life -  supporting animal welfare and the human-animal bond, being active outdoors, and togetherness with animals and people who love them as much as I do :)  It also felt great to give back to the San Diego Humane Society and Project Wildlife for all of the great things they do within our community.”

Check out the SDHS Walk for Animals 2019 donation page for information about how you can still give, even though this year’s event has wrapped up. Animals all around San Diego will certainly thank you!
