Veterinarian
Hi, I’m Dr. Tim Stohlman, an Associate Veterinarian at Conley & Koontz Equine Hospital. I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and went on to earn my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Purdue’s College of Veterinary Medicine, completing my studies in 2023.
After graduation, I returned to my hometown in Northeast Indiana and joined the Conley & Koontz team in 2023. That summer, we also launched Stohlman Stock Solutions, an initiative designed to broaden the services we offer and better serve the livestock and equine industries.
Being able to provide our patients with the highest standard of care is incredibly important to me, and to stay up to date with the latest innovations in equine and livestock medicine, I've joined professional veterinary organizations like the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), and Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.
Favorite Part of my Job
One of the things I love most about veterinary medicine is the sense of fulfillment that comes from months of planning and effort culminating in a successful outcome. Whether it’s a wound that’s been carefully treated for weeks and is now healing or an embryo flush that results in a genetically valuable pregnancy, seeing the results of hard work and precision planning come together is incredibly rewarding.
Why I chose this profession
Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work on farms. It wasn’t until later in high school that I discovered my interest in medicine, which eventually led me to pursue veterinary care. During my undergraduate years, I found my true passion in theriogenology — the study of reproduction in animals. The field offers an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on animal care and farming, and that’s why I decided to dedicate my career to it.
I'm a proud member of a number of professional veterinary groups specifically in the field of theriogenology, including the American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA), International Embryo Technology Society (IETS), and the Society for Theriogenology.
Personal Hobbies & Interests
Outside of work, I stay busy leasing cattle for 4-H members to show at county and state levels. I’m also passionate about spending time with my family, woodworking, and fishing. There’s something peaceful about being outdoors, and I enjoy those moments of downtime when I’m not at the office or working on farm-related activities.
I have a two-year-old Yellow Lab named Minnie, who’s a very dedicated office companion. She spends about 19 hours a day napping, but can be roused to greet every client who walks through the door with a wagging tail.
