Norris McGehee DVM, Diplomate ABVP

Norris W. McGehee, DVM, DABVP, is a 1987 graduate of The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and became owner of McGehee Clinic for Animals in 1990. He is certified as a Diplomate by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline Medicine. Dr. McGehee has worked at the clinic since he was a young boy. He knew then that he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his uncle and founder of the clinic, Dr. Eugene H. McGehee. Each day Dr. McGehee shows that there is much more to his role at our clinic than just having his name on the building. His dedication to implementing and practicing the best medicine possible is evident in every step he takes.

Dr. Norris McGehee has special interest and training in cardiac ultrasounds and echocardiograms, as well as the training to perform advanced surgical procedures including Tibial Plateau Leveling
Osteotomy (TPLO) and Tibial Tuberosity Advancement (TTA) procedure to repair torn cruciate ligaments. He is a member of American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Dr. McGehee is married to Lauren and has three sons, Hud, Ian, and the late Norris McGehee, Jr.  He is a Past President of the Rotary Club Memphis East, Past President of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, an avid outdoorsman, and especially enjoys watching his boys many sporting events!  Dr. McGehee has a Labrador named Cotton and a Heinz 57 named Charlie. 

Dr. McGehee is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in feline and canine medicine.  To become ABVP certified one must endure a rigorous and demanding credentialing process and take a three day long examination.This means the doctor has proven their exceptional knowledge, skill, and competency in the care of the total patient by the AVMA Board of Veterinary Specialties.
