Las Vegas

Here in Las Vegas, we love our pets! Whether we enjoy the fantastic weather with our favorite dog or we are at home spending time with our favorite cat, Las Vegas is a great place to have pets. Las Vegas, one of the country’s top 30 most populated cities, is the largest city in the greater Mojave Desert. As an international destination and resort city, Vegas is known for its culture and reputation as the Entertainment Capital of the World. Sin City is in Clark County and in southern Nevada. The subtropical hot desert climate lends itself to hot summers and short but chilly winters.

Las Vegas has more activities and destinations than anybody can count. Looking for museums? Check out the Neon Museum, Mob Museum, and Las Vegas Natural History Museum. Or, head to the Downtown Arts District which hosts its own festivals and events. Additionally, you can enjoy watching the Vegas Golden Knights (NHL) and soon, the Oakland Raiders (NFL) play live.

Las Vegas is certainly an urban center with plenty of fun events to enjoy as a visitor or a local. January welcomes the High Roller Super Bowl and Martin Luther King, Jr. Parade. NASCAR events and St. Patrick’s Day make March a fantastic month to spend time in Vegas too. Don’t forget to enjoy the Freemont Street Mardi Gras, City of Light Jazz Festival, Cinco de Mayo, and Jazz in the Park events.

The major forces behind the economy in Las Vegas is tourism and gaming, which also help fuel retail and service industries. Casinos and conventions attract tourists from all over the world. Of course, some other industries also make a name for themselves in the city, including shopping and cannabis. Major companies that have made a name for themselves in the city include Zappos, Allegiant Air, and Planet 13 Holdings.

Las Vegas was first inhabited by nomadic groups who lived in the region about 10,000 years ago. A Mexican scout named Rafael Rivera traveled to the area, and soon other settlers and traders were moving in. The city was officially founded in 1905, and it was incorporated in 1911. During World War II, Las Vegas grew as a gambling destination.

Las Vegas is one of the most fascinating cities in the world, so you will find plenty of fun facts about the city. For instance, most of the largest hotels in the entire world are found in Vegas. Of course, Las Vegas is not all about gambling and tourism. It is also home to one of the world’s largest Mormon populations.

Today, Las Vegas is home to about 600,000 residents according to 2016 estimates. Additionally, it is the 31st biggest city in the United States.
