Here in Ontario, we love our pets! Ontario, a city situated in southwestern San Bernardino County, should not be confused with its Canadian counterpart. Ontario, California, is 35 miles east of Los Angeles and is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The city boasts a semi-arid climate with very hot cities and warm winters. All of this means that our city is a fantastic place to live and play, whether you live alone or have furry friends in your home.

Ontario has plenty to do. Cucamonga-Guasti Regional Park offers two lakes and a variety of fun activities, including boating and fishing. Of course, you can also take a stroll around the park. Local hot springs also offer a lot of fun. You should also check out the Museum of History and Art and explore local antique shops—all of which offer a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Ontario is not as urban as Los Angeles, but it is not without fun ways to celebrate. The 2019 Ontario Festival of the Arts helps artists celebrate their stories each autumn. Other events also offer the opportunity to enjoy local food and drink throughout the year.

Ontario is home to the Ontario International Airport, the 15th busiest airport in the country. Other industries that have helped build the economy include service industries and warehousing. Distribution centers that have a reputation in the city include AutoZone, MBM, and Nordstrom. Additionally, the city has been home to the Icee Company, Famous Stars and Straps, Phoenix Motorcars, and Niagara Bottling.

Our city is named after the home of William, George, and Charles Chaffey, brothers who established the Ontario Model Colony in 1882. At one time, the city was simply land that was used for foraging and hunting by Native Americans. Throughout the 1880s, the region began to attract citrus farmers and people who were ill and needed to live in a dry climate.

Ontario may not be the biggest city in the Los Angeles region, but the truth is that many notable people have lived in the city. They include surfboard maker Hobie Alter, author Beverly Cleary, and musician Frank Zappa. Many athletes, including pro football players, have grown up or attended school in Ontario too.

Ontario, California, is home to about 175,841 people according to recent estimates. This makes Ontario the 27th largest city in the state. There are about 52,450 households in the city. Our city offers plenty of reasons why you would want to live here with your four-legged friends.
